Annual Favorite - Roxbury Film Festival

Forget Sundance and Cannes, Roxbury is home to one of the world's best film festivals. This year's lineup is looking incredible, filled with documentaries, features and shorts to make you laugh, cry and think about how amazing Boston can be. The festival goes from July 29-Aug 1, so be sure to check out the official website for schedule and ticket info.

Preciosa HipHop...

Just came back from the annual Puerto Rican parade. The community is out in full force, especially around Jackson Sq. and Egleston.  There's some great drumming going on out there and a couple of trucks with DJs keeping it jumping, so if you have a second to run outside and check it out, it's well worth it. Try to find a spot in the shade though, 'cause it's John Blaze out there. 

Next stop on today's itinerary will be the HipHop 4 Life Culture Festival.  This should be a cool, peaceful event filled with fashion, poetry, music and more. Don't forget to rock your sunblock.
